I’d not give him or his actions any more thought. Maybe he did a quick post flight when he landed and watched his plane like a hawk from the restaurant and didn’t get any fuel. Is it a pilot and plane that I have never seen and it is parked in the transient parking area, and I see him come out of the restaurant, and just hop in and go? More than likely I’d assume he preflighted at his home airport and feels comfortable in doing what he did. Is it a locally based aircraft and pilot that I am familiar with, maybe friends with, and I see him walk in from the parking lot, untie the plane, pull the chocks, fire up and go? I’d likely have a friendly chat with him the next time I see him regarding the dangers of complacency.
